Francisco Hernandez

Welfare Officer

Hello,
I’m Francisco Hernandez and I am the OUSA Welfare Officer for this year. Before I begin with the official spiel, I’d like to tell you something about myself: I’m a politics major, doing a Masters of entrepreneurship this year. My hobbies are reading, writing and breathing. I am fluent in both Filipino and English and know a bit of Spanish and am learning Maori this year.
As the Welfare Officer for 2012 I hope to implement my key election promises with the overall objective of providing more and better services to help improve the quality of life for students in Dunedin. These promises include the provision of healthy $3 breakfasts and $3 dinners and the continuation of Free Shop I also want to reform the political organization of the executive to begin the devolution of power to the students, from the executive – this can be accomplished by empowering other forms of student representation on various OUSA committees and I’ll strongly be pushing for the creation of an elected OUSA student council
You can read up about my progress, ask me questions, criticize me or send me love/hate mail at my blog at: http://www.tumblr.com/blog/fran4ousa
